I love my student's art work.
I love how each piece is so uniquely them.
How I don't even have to see the name to know who created which one.
I've been feeling kinda stuck in my art.
Kinda frozen and unoriginal.
It feels like the longer I go without painting,
the harder it seems to start again.
And my students are such a great example to me.
They are all artists.
They just go for it.
They don't overthink.
And when they get frustrated,
they, too, push through,
and keep going.
I just need to spend some precious time in the studio.
With my paint and my music.
But not today.
Today we are watching the parade& lots of football,
drinking coffee, playing wiffle ball, playing Scrabble,
finishing last minute side dishes
and taking naps today.
And that's before the feast.
Thank you for all of your encouragement
with our family photos.
Seriously encouraging.
I've been doing well with eating.
And I feel way better.
Just being intentional about what I
put in my body, drinking water,
sticking to the program.
Today doesn't count, of course.
I hope you all have a fun day of giving thanks with your families.
oh Erin, what an amazing sight to see all their works lined up like that. It's precious!!
ReplyDeleteHappy Thanksgiving to you and your family!
Thanks for sharing these adorable little illustrations! It was real eye candy for me! Your art will return...we all go through it! It's just a lull for what ever reason! Maybe do some journaling about it for now!
ReplyDeleteHappy Thanks giving...we celebrate Oct here in Canada, we've rolled into Christmas already!
Peace Giggles
Oh these are beautiful. Kids constantly amaze me. I am in an art slump too... just stare at all my half finished pieces and have no idea what to add to them. augh... I know it will return, but getting impatient. I know I have to make it a priority, but scared I guess. Hope you had a happy day and a great creative weekend!
ReplyDeleteAren't you glad that there are children here to remind us just to have fun and play, and that's not just in our art world either. I'm glad they'll always be around. Hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving.
ReplyDeleteHi Erin! I do love your students' work!! I like how you had them watercolor the page first, then draw in black.♥ Happy day after Thanksgiving! I need to eat way better now too. I put onj a few unwanted pounds again recently and I don't feel healthy and fit at all. Hard to eat well over this holiday season, but that's when it's the most necessary I guess too! I'm thinking of you, Kath
ReplyDeleteAww, what precious pieces of art you've posted. thanks for sharing their work with us.
ReplyDeleteWay to go with the healthy eating and mindful living. I'm on the path with you and while it's a challenge, the better I care for my body, the better my life becomes in all areas.
I'm sure you will find your groove again soon, when it comes to art.
Happy Holidays, faraway-friend-who-I-wish-was-my-neighbor :)
