Deep Thoughts & The Sparrow Fund

Are you still as amazed with the internet as I am?
with email? with blogging?
with the friends and relationships you've made
with people you've never met in real life?
That I can do a google search on anything in the entire universe
and get the information
for free?

That I can paint pictures in my bedroom upstairs (my dream come true)
and send them all over the country, all over the world,
and that that's how I'm able to stay home with my babies (my other dream come true)?

It amazes me.
I think it always will.

You know how you meet someone & connect right away?
That's how it was with my new friend Kelly.
She is a rock star for orphans.

She contacted me about donating 10% of all May sales to
The Sparrow Fund, to help families bring orphans home.
I am so happy to be a part of all that God is doing here.
Kelly found 30 businesses to donate,
one for each day in May!

Ashley is another sweet soul getting the word out.
I am their featured business today.
Stop by & have a look!

Tuesday: Playing in the studio, Queen Bee, and Orphan News

Today's randomness...

I've been playing in the studio

I'm not quite sure what I'm doing here.

Mostly playing with texture & color.

I'm having fun, can you tell?

the Queen Bee Market

I'm getting ready for the Queen Bee Market
***next weekend***

I ordered my new business cards too late,
so I'm making my own...
business cards
bio cards
pricing &
vendor labels...

I need to spend some quality time at Kinko's.

I picked a bunch of prints & cards up from the printer yesterday.
It's like Christmas when I do.
I love to see how they turn out.

Now I just need to package & label them.

And finish my shelving,
but that's for tomorrow night.
If you live in the San Diego area, I'd love to meet you at the market,
next Friday & Saturday, May 7&8.

an organization committed to encouraging and supporting these families as they prepare for the adventure of adoption. They do this by providing grants to families in financial need to enroll in programs specifically designed to provide counsel and comprehensive medical reviews of their referred child.

31 shop owners have committed to donating 10% of their May sales to the Sparrow Fund.
Check out the website to find out what other businesses will be contributing.
So exciting to be a part of what God is doing to bring children home to their forever families.

The Orphan Crisis & hope

A few months ago I got a comment from Love.
I read her blog and found this.

Frankly, it left me feeling lost.
In tears.
So, so sad.
And feeling so helpless.

I prayed.
Really?
I don't even know what
to do with this, Lord.
The needs are too great.
We have no money to give.
There's nothing I can do to fix this.
Show me.

And then I forgot about it.
For the most part.
I think about these babies. a lot.
But I have to push it out of my mind because
I think of Jack separated from his mommy and daddy
and I'm an instant puddle of tears.
and it makes me so, so sad.
like really sad.
And if I can't fix it,
it seems pointless to just be sad.

So then I heard about little Sergey from Courtney's blog.
And Danielle and her family's heart
for the least of these.
And I was so excited when I read about him
and an opportunity to help him because
there was finally something I could do.
Like actually do.
And that makes me happy.
Not sad.

So happy to be a teeny tiny part of
something really big. seriously.
God bringing his children to home.
(Just like me.)
Reminds me of the paralytic. (Luke 5)
His friends do all kinds of crazy stuff
to get him to the feet of Jesus.
To bring him home to his daddy.

And I just know, without a doubt
that together, all of our little loaves & fishes
are changing eternity.

 Anyway, please visit Danielle.
Please give what you feel lead to give.
Please pray for our little Sergey and
the families and children at Reese's Rainbow.
