Grace found...

I'm a firm believer in ridiculous prayers.
parking space prayers.
help me find my keys prayers.
help me feel even remotely attractive today prayers.

The more I know my God, the more I'm convinced that he takes
 great pleasure in being invited into the minutia of my life.
Being Lord of the little things as well as the big.
Because he loves me.

I'm convinced that he has gifts for me to unwrap every single day.
If I have eyes to see.
If I have ears to hear.
If I take the tiem to slow down and look and listen.
I find grace everywhere.
In the little things. In the every day.
It's God's promise:

7 “Ask and it will be given to you;
seek and you will find;
knock and the door will be opened to you.
 8 For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds;
and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.
9 “Which of you, if your son asks for bread, will give him a stone?
10 Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake?
 11 If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children,
how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!
Matthew 7:7-11

There is nothing too small or too ridiculous to invite God into today.
This is where his grace is found.
In the every day.

No eye has seen,
no ear has heard,
no mind has conceived
what God has prepared for those who love him”b
but God has revealed it to us by his Spirit.
1 Corinthians 2:9

Open my eyes Lord. Open my ears.
Open my heart and my mind
to find the grace that you have prepared for me today.
And help me to make you Lord of every part of my life.

  2. I think you're right - seeing your photos reminded me that I'm often interested in the small stuff in my kids' lives - and God describes himself as our heavenly Father.

  5. amen, amen! My son likes to pray for parking spaces, and wouldn't you know that God is gracious enough to give us a good one every. single. time. I think He's building LC's faith one answered prayer at a time!
